Johnnie Walker Blue Label - South East Asia

I worked with Butterfly Cannon to produce illustrations for some of Johnnie Walker’s Signature special edition Blue Label Bottles. This was the design for the South East Asia bottle, which was printed in one colour to be printed in gold on the bottle. For this bottle the brief was for a diptych rather than a triptych, and the designs needed to incorporate various elements from countries across South East Asia. As this would be 2 images printed on opposite sides of the bottle I decided to design the images as a reverse view of each other, with one looking from the city to the coast and vice versa. As this was being printed entirely in gold, with the whiskey behind as the contrast, it was important for the images to also work in inverse contrast, as depending on the lighting, sometimes the gold would be darker than the whiskey, and sometimes the opposite.
